[my DIY] straw and shoestring necklace

Last week I crafted a statement necklace from straws, shoestrings and spraypaint for the Art of ReUse contest, and I am loving the final look! I'm digging the tribal vibe, and its perfect to dress up jeans and a tank, or add some interest to the neckline of your little black dress.

[diy] old school

After seeing two of my fave DIYers, ...Love Maegan and Honestly...WTF, take it old school in recent projects, I could not help but pick up some Lester Lace (or gimp) when I was at Blick Art the other day. I love the idea of reviving this look for the summer! Swimsuit designer Brette Sandler, sold the arm candy (above)last Summer, which could be an uber chic look with a chunky gold watch and a few bangles.
What do you think, bring the trend back or leave it on the playground?
They’re hairy, they have black toenails, and their price cannot be confirmed. I’m not talking about an exotic jungle cat or mythical beast…I’m talking about this crazy pair of shoes that has the fashion world all a-buzz:

Named “Alex,” this wild (I'll say) pair of shoes is part of Christian Louboutin’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection. A price has not yet been placed on the fancy footwear, which makes one think it must be a pretty high number.
Two of the most stylish women in Hollywood—Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively—have already been spotted wearing these camel suede shoes. Their outfits could not be more different, though…which look do you prefer?
I love out-there styles, and if anyone can pull off a pair of funky shoes, it’s Carrie Bradshaw. But these shoes are pretty out-there, so the question is, price aside, would YOU wear them?

1.2.3 get the look

                                           A PINK NATURAL POP UP

Feel like blooming in time for spring? We give you the lowdown on how to perfect an effortless look (or so it seems) in few easy steps. Thanks to our essential kit for pink ladies, the English rose cheeks and lips should be your new season code. Loosen up your hair, set it free and push the volume. Healthy and shiny, your feminine appeal should be floating in the air through the hair.
1

Say it with curls

Get some instant natural volume by twisting your wet locks and fixing them with pins. When loosening the hair, fix the curls with a spray. Or if you have the world famous Babyliss, get your made-to-perform zigzags on dry hair.
2

Natural contrast

Get a firm and flawless skin with Maybelline’s Dream Satin Liquid foundation. Intensify your look with lash-shaping mascara, La Roche Posay’s Respectissime one does a good job by widening your eyes and underlining your expressions. Pink up the lips with Yves Saint Laurent’s Frozen Cherry lip gloss to top up on a sheer toned lipstick or worn alone and applied precisely with a lip brush.
3

A blooming smile

Get the rose cheeks thanks to Mac’s Blush Crème. Use your fingertips to create a degrade, from the centre to the cheekbones.
4

Bohemian daily chic

Wear your hair long for bohemian day-chic. Release the braids and keep the volume with a spray. We like GHD Creation Spray because it holds locks for longer, and has the added bonus of pro-vitamin B5 – a helpful little ingredient that moisturises the hair. What a treat!
5

High on a tail

Add a bit of sophistication and opt for a ponytail. Apply Kerastase's Serum Nutri-Sculpt for an elegant “tombé”.
6

Add some drama for the night

Nothing better than eyeliners can play the Hollywood glamour tracks. Get Mac’s Powerpoint eyeliner in Permaplum, strong impact guaranteed!
7

And in the wink of an eye, you are ready to go. Party anyone?!

For every $22 spent in the airport, adrenaline junkies (or really brave little kids) get tokens for two rides on the slide. Visitors who don't want totravel at the speed of 19 feet a second, can take a ride down the shorter, one-and-a-half-story tall slide located at Terminal 3 Basement 2, which is free.

Located in Porto das Dunas, 16 km from Fortaleza, Brazil, Beach Park originated in 1985 out of a trendy beachfront restaurant. In 1989, it opened its water park, the first in Latin America, with three water slides. The Insano is the highest water slide in the world at 41 meters high, a record listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Its height is equivalent to that of a 14-storey building. As a consequence of its height and slope, this water slide provides an extremely rapid descent - taking between four and five seconds - at aspeed of 105 km/h. Slide Staircase (England)
This creative slide next to the staircase was designed by London architect Alex Michaelis at the request of his children. Not only it adds originality but a lot of fun to their new eco-friendly dream home. In the picture, one of the children throwing caution to the wind and diving head first down the slide. According to Michaelis even grown-ups can't resist skipping the stairs. "We've been known after a big dinner party to use the slide”, he said.
